Vanessa Schnable

Vanessa teaches yoga to help her students gain more body awareness and push them outside of their comfort zones. She has been practicing for nearly 8 years and has used it as a cross training tool in conjunction with spin, kettlebells, running and more. Her classes are athletic, light-hearted, core focused and a balance of grace and strength that will last even off the mat. She is a Charlottesville native, a UVA grad, and lover of all things local.
 

Eliza Whiteman

Eliza is the co-founder and director at FlyDog Yoga. She is an RYT-500 and Tier 2 Baptiste Power Vinyasa Teacher. Eliza is the lead teacher for FDY's Power Vinyasa Teacher Training and she also has certifications in Aerial Yoga, Yoga & Weights, Prenatal Yoga and Children's Yoga. 

You should expect a creative, fun, athletic style that will get your blood flowing and make you sweat but at the same time tap into your potential- get inspired, be empowered and have fun! Every body is welcome, you can always modify poses and flows to fit you.
Yoga is not about perfection- it is about progress. 
 

Jennifer Csapo

Jennifer found her passion for yoga as an undergraduate student at James Madison University. What started as a primarily asana practice became a pathway to healing and self love. She practiced under mentors Keala Mason and Amanda Saccone while working for JMU's group fitness program. Her other inspirations include Eliza Whiteman, Mary Ann McIvor, Kathryn Budig and Amy Ippoliti. She graduated from Fly Dog Yoga's 200 hour training in 2016. Inspired by creative sequencing and humor in her practice, expect to sweat, laugh, and work hard in Jennifer's vinyasa and power classes.

Anne Kuehler

When Anne finally took a yoga class to help heal after a car accident, she was amazed at how good she felt afterwards. She was hooked from the first, flowy, mindful class. Her classes are inspired by the belief that yoga can heal and strengthen the body both physically and emotionally.
 
Anne teaches all levels of Vinyasa. Her classes are a Fun, creative Flow that will both challenge and inspire you. Come ready to work hard, sweat, breathe deep, and leave empowered. In her classes, you will work through invigorating sequences set to an eclectic mix of tunes, allowing you to grow, stretch, and reflect. Anne has her 200 Yoga certification from FlyDog Yoga. Her main influences are Eliza Whiteman, Mary Ann McIvor, Baron Baptiste, Rolf Gates, and Kerri Verna.

Adam Quesenberry

Adam had been practicing yoga for three years before deciding to take FlyDog Yoga’s 200 hr Power Vinyasa Teacher Training. He is an RYT 200 with the Yoga Alliance. Adam finds motivation in his fellow students of yoga. Some of Adam’s inspirations include Baron Baptiste, Eliza Whiteman, Mary Ann Mclvor, and Patrick Gibson. Adam teaches heated Power Vinyasa with fast paced transitions and strength building static postures.

Ashley Rydeen

Ashley Rydeen was first introduced to yoga by her sister and quickly fell in love with the practice. She was drawn to the mindful, healing spirit of yoga while always maintaining a "Let's play!" attitude. She graduated from from FlyDog Yoga's 200 hour Power Vinyasa Program in 2017 studying under Eliza Whiteman and MaryAnn McIvor. Her flows encourage students to focus on cultivating strength, stability and balance while bringing awareness to the breath and alignment. 

Shannon Burns

Shannon Burns, a double WAHOO, has lived in Charlottesville for 20+ years. She has practiced yoga for over 10 years, and completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through FlyDog Yoga in March 2016.
 
As a Nurse Practitioner, she uses her care, knowledge and understanding of the human body to bring calmness and strength to the body through support and empowerment.
 
During a Power Vinyasa class, Shannon hopes to motivate students to gain confidence, knowledge, and connect to the mind & body in a kind hearted and nonjudgemental way. Shannon discovered the benefits of yoga practice during a crazy, yet exciting stage of parenting and life. After years of running half marathons and being a gym rat, she decided to see what would happen if she took 25 classes in 30 days at FlyDog, and has never looked back- HOOKED. Yoga continues to bring balance into Shannon’s life, and she hopes to help you discover all of your possibilities in one of her classes!

Jess Norby

Jess has been practicing yoga for about eight years. She will complete her 200-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training through FlyDog Yoga in August 2015. Her inspirations include Eliza Whiteman, Holly Wade, and her Teacher Training peers. As a full-time certified personal trainer through ACSM, she uses her knowledge of the human body to teach and embody the importance of core strength, stability, and alignment. She believes that challenging the body is an important way to find and build strength - whether it's in her yoga classes or on the fitness floor.
During a heated vinyasa practice, students can expect to embrace working hard, getting a little (or very) sweaty, and breathing together on the mat; all for that final relaxation: Savasana!
 

Madison Rogas

Madison’s yoga journey began her freshman year of college as she looked for something to help manage her stress and unwind at the end of a busy day. What started as simply a relaxation tool quickly evolved into a sweaty, powerful practice of self-love and empowerment. Madison was inspired by Baron Baptiste and Kathryn Budig and has studied with Eliza Whiteman and MaryAnn McIvor. She graduated from FlyDog Yoga’s 200 Hour Vinyasa Training in March 2017, and also completed her Kids Yoga Training at Big Power Yoga in Houston. In addition to being a kids yoga teacher, Madison will start the University of Virginia’s Counselor Education Program this fall in hopes to eventually combine the principles of yoga with counseling. As a teacher, Madison is committed to authenticity and will empower you to find your edge on the mat, while moving to inspirational beats. Her teaching will constantly remind you that you are awesome just the way you are.

Lindsey Tessada

Lindsey began practicing yoga over ten years ago, but it wasn’t a daily practice until after the birth of her second child in 2014. Vigorous workouts to get back into shape made her feel like she was going to snap in half, like she was on the verge of an injury. Incorporating daily yoga into her fitness routine, strengthened and healed her overworked body. Lindsey moved to Charlottesville in the summer of 2017. She quickly fell in love with the powerful, sweaty and soulful classes at FlyDog and has already built an amazing community of friends through her time in the studio. Lindsey graduated from FlyDog’s 200 hour Power Vinyasa teacher training as well as Fly Dog’s 20 hour Power Sculpt training in the spring of 2018. Lindsey began teaching group fitness classes and personal training in 2004. She is excited to combine her fitness background with her Fly Dog teacher trainings to bring her passion for group movement to your mat with athletic and fun classes.

MaryAnn McIvor

MaryAnn took her first ashtanga class in 2009 and fell in love with what quickly became a physically healing and mentally calming practice. In 2012, she graduated from Charlottesville Yoga School and began teaching. She's thankful for the large yoga community in our little town, and very grateful to have had workshop opportunities with Tim Miller, Andrew Eppler, David Keil, Kino MacGregor, Richard Freeman, and Kathryn Budig.
MaryAnn is also FlyDog's Lead Barre Teacher and is in the process of getting her 500 hour Vinyasa certification from Om On Yoga in Richmond.
Her creatively sequenced vinyasa classes have a strong focus on alignment and overall strength, offering something new and different to both beginners and seasoned practitioners.
Power Vinyasa ALL LEVELS. This dynamic, energizing and challenging style of yoga links breath and movement through a basic Power Yoga framework combining sun salutations, standing postures and floor work but each teacher brings their own creative touch. The smooth, continuous flow deepens the breath, develops core strength, increases endurance and challenges balance and flexibility. You will leave these classes with a renewed mental and physical energy. The room is heated between 85 and 90 degrees.
